Bangla Telecentre Times Launched in Rangpur

Launching ceremony of The Telecentre Times (Bangla version) on August 28, 2006 at RDRS

Bangla Telecentre Times, the news paper of and for telecentres across the globe which is a new participatory initiative to promote sharing of experiences among telecentre practitioners has been launched on August 28, 2006 at the International Workshop titled “Building Telecentre Family in Bangladesh ” held at RDRS, Rangpur , Bangladesh . D.Net initiated the effort where Bangladesh NGOs Network for Radio & Communication (BNNRC), DRIK, EKOTA and Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) collaborated to make it a success. The launching ceremony was attended by Dr. Shamsul Bari, Chairman, Research Initiative Bangladesh (RIB); Ms. Selina Hossain, Executive Director, Fareea Lara Foundation; Professor Subbiah Arunachalam (MSSRF), Mr. Mark surman, Managing Director, Telecentre .org; Mr. Basheerhamad Shadrach, Senior Program Officer, IDRC, Telecentre .org Program, India; Ms Priyanthi Daluwatte, Project Manager, Virtual Village Project, Sarvodaya, Srilanka; Dr. Ananya Raihan, ED, D.Net; Mr. A H M Bazlur Rahman, CEO, BNNRG; Mr. Arifur Rahman, Chief Executive, YPSA and many other leaders of ICT4D movement in Bangladesh.
