Work Profile:


MS. Santana Ayub's present work profile of D-Net is-

•  To conduct action research on ICT and development;
•  To participate in action research to test the feasibility of providing relevant information using mobile phone, internet, and other ICT-based delivery channels;
•  To collect resources on various rural development issues;
•  To prepare research papers in Bangle / English on issues of impact of ICTs on rural development;
•  To develop partnership with relevant organizations and collecting resource from them;
•  To visit and stay at project locations for conducting research on utility of ICT usage; and
•  To participate preparing research report.


Education:

B.S.S (Hons)
, 2 nd Class 2 nd , Jahangirnagar University ,Savar, Dhaka , Bangladesh M.S.S. in Anthropology, 1 st Class 3 rd , Jahangirnagar University , Savar, Dhaka , Bangladesh .

Attending workshop:

- Participated in a Three days workshop on An Actor Oriented Approach to Natural Resource (NR) Sector value addition in the Bangladeshi Charlands: a DFID Livelihood project being conducted by Dr. Zahir Ahmed and Harriet Matsaert.

- Attended two days workshop on Research Methodology, 29th and 30th January 2003, (funded by the Ford Foundation) Department of Anthropology, J.U.

- Participated in a Two days workshop on practicing PRA organized, 2003, by the Department of Anthropology, J.U.

Professional Experience:

Worked as a consultant for two months (August and September, 2004) for ITDG-B, entitled ‘Capacity Building assignment of Disaster Risk Management Project of FAO', Dhaka , Bangladesh .

Worked as a fieldwork and research assistant on prawn farming in Bagerhat district with Dr. Sanae Ito (Associate Professor GSID at Nagoya University Nagoya, Japan) funded by University Grant Commission, August 2003.

Worked as research assistant with Dr.Andy Hall & Dr.Zahir Ahmed, project entitled, ‘Agricultural innovation System: Concepts and a Methodology for Diagnostic Assessments', United Nations University, Institute for New Technologies, January-March 2005.


Area of Interest:
Qualitative and Quantitative Research, Action Research, Rural Livelihood, Gender, Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
