Advocate Fatema Ferdous Senior Research Associate (Legal & Human Rights)

Work Profile:

I am working as a Senior Research Associate in Abolombon which is a project under Pallitathya programme . This project aims to improve access for rural people using various ICT channels to the information related to human rights, legal redress, explanation of laws ,availability of legal aid etc.

My present work profile in D.Net is –

Collect resources on legal and human right issues
Prepare text with legal explanation in Bangla language which will be easy-to-read to victims
Edit legal content prepared by fellow staff for publication
Counsel victims of human rights violation time to time
Develop partnership with legal and human right organizations and collect resources from them
Participate the action research to test the feasibility of providing legal information using Mobile phone and Internet based delivery channels
Visit and stay at project locations for conducting research on utility of ICT usage
Participate in preparing research report

Educational Qualification

• 2 nd Division from Humanities Group in the S.S.C. Examination from, Comilla Board.
• 1 st Division from Humanities Group in the H.S.C. Examination from Comilla Board.
• 2 nd Class in the LL.B (Hon's), From Department of Law, University of Chittagong .
• 2 nd Class in the LL.M., From Department of Law, University of Chittagong

45 days training from Legal Education and Training Institute (LETI)at Bangladesh Bar Council, Ramna ,Dhaka from September to November 2000 .
Training Program on Children in Conflict with the Law jointly organized by Legal Education & Training Institute (LETI), Bangladesh Bar Council & Aparajeyo Bangladesh held from 17th February 2005 to 19th February 2005 in Dhaka .
