D.Net invites International Interns for having hands on experience in development research through participation in its various activites. The internship prgramme has been launched in 2005. Currently, we have one International Intern, working closely with D.Net in Pallitathya Programme.
Internship Eligibility
To participate in the D.Net International Research Internship Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a student or graduate of any nationality
- be a student or graduate in good standing at a University outside of Bangladesh
- Have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0
- Be an undergraduate or graduate student in following discipline: Economics, Sociology, Anthropology, International Relations, International Law, Development Studies, Business
Number of Position
Initially one for each year, however, the number may increase depending on the certain factors.
Duration
Duration of the internship is 2 – 6 months.
Students may participate in the program during their semester break in the summer . Any other time is also welcome depending on the availability of position.
Procedure for Application
- Application letter; please mention the time and duration (not less than two months) of your Internship;
- An essay of 500 words elaborating reasons for your interest in the programme;
- A no objection letter from the institution, where you are studying;
- A sponsorship letter from any institution or parents that the expenditure during your stay will be covered by them.
Application deadline
January 15 of each year.
Notification period
The applicant will be notified by the end of February. The selected candidate should confirm participation in the Internship by March 15 with necessary documents.
Waiting list
A waiting list will be maintained by the Internship management team at D.Net. The availability of seat from waiting list will be notified to the candidate directly and a closure notice will be published in www.dnet-bangladesh.org/iIntern.html by end March.
Nature of Activities by an International Intern
The International Research Intern will be assigned to on-going projects at D.Net at the time of the internship.
Internship Requirement
The program requires the following items for successful completion of internship:
• Submit your resume along with a cover letter, not exceeding one page
• Check with your university if internship can be substituted for any course requirements or academic credit
• Submit a report
Certification
At the close of your internship, you will be given a certificate with your accomplishments.
Honorarium
A monthly honorarium of Tk 5000-10000 will be given, which will essentially cover the transportation cost to office and some pocket expenditure. Any field visit outside Dhaka will be covered by D.Net.
Expenses
Visa

D.Net does not deal with immigration authorities in Bangladesh and, therefore, the applicant is requested to obtain necessary visas on the applicant's own. However, D.Net will assist with providing address and contact point at the embassies or High Commission aboard.
Vaccination
D.Net also suggests to check with a physician if you may need any vaccines.
