“Content Development Methodology and Infomediary Training Curriculum” |
Developing livelihood-based content through Information and communication Technology (ICT) is a new idea in Bangladesh, though much have done in the other parts of the Globe. Language and subject matter is the main obstacle developing a livelihood-based content and hence it is in a preliminary stage in our country. Under PAN Localization Project -Phase-2, D.Net is developing a content database in bangle in collaboration with BRAC University. On August 26, 2007 D.Net organized a workshop titled “Content Development Methodology and Infomediary Training Curriculum” at the training room of the organization. Representatives of different development organizations attended the workshop.
At the beginning, Dr. Ananya Raihan, Executive Director of D.Net, welcomed the participants and clarified the goal and objectives of developing livelihood-based content database and infomediary services for the poor and the marginalized. He presented the obstacles, limitations and potentialities of developments. Dr. Mumit Khan, Chief CRBLP(Centre for Research Bangla Language Processing ), BRAC University informed the participants of PAN Localization Project.
Mr. Masum Billah, Head of the Knowledge Management Division, D.Net, demonstrated the content development methodologies followed by D.Net as well as other development organizations in Bangladesh. He illustrated textual, audio-visual methods, capacity building, development culture, policy, and other parts of methodologies. Some textual and animated content, developed by D.Net, were presented there. Later, participants took part in a discussion session.
With the attachment of a number of eminent development representatives of BRRI, UNDP, Dhaka Ahsania Mission, CAMPE, RIB, YPSA and other, the workshop was very successful. |
