Telecentre: Bridging Opportunities" held in Noakhali under CLICK Project

A regional workshop titled ‘Telecentre: Bridging Opportunities’ has been completed successfully in Noakhali on May 22, 2008. The objective of this workshop was to link the graduates with job market as well as share the telecentre concept with potential local organizations who can either recruit these trained human resources at their ICT projects or replicate the telecentre model. The workshop was supported by Microsoft. The workshop was organised by D.Net’s Pallitathya and the local organisations Digonter Dak and Gandhi Ashram Trust. The workshop was organised in association with D.Net, Bangladesh Telecentre Network (BTN) and Computer Literacy Programme (CLP). Around 200 participants from different NGOs, GOs, civil society, Telecentre practitioners, academician, students, youths attained in the day long workshop. |

Deputy commissioner of Noakhali Mr. Abdul Hoque was the chief guest in the workshop. Secretary of Gandhi Asram Trust Ms. Jharna Dhara Choudhury chaired the session. Mr. Mahmud Hasan, Chief Operating Officer, BTN presented the Mission 2011 of BTN. Mr. Md. Forhad Uddin, Deputy Director, D.Net presented the key note paper in the programme. The workshop design was as follows:
First session: Inauguration of workshop (10:00 AM to 12:00 PM)
- Share the experience of CLICK project: Md. Forhad Uddin, D.Net
- Share the idea and progress of BTN's Mission 2011: Mr. Mahmud Hasan, BTN
- Storytelling of local organizations in replicating telecentre at their location
- D.Net project partners: Chief of Digonter Dak and Gandhi Ashram Trust
- Other telecentre operator: Chief of PRAN and Representative of CLC
- Beneficiaries: Information recipients from Joyag, Noakhali
- Graduates: IT skills training recipients from Maijdee, Noakhali
Second session: Knowledge sharing and open discussion (12:30 to 3:30 PM)
